A Guide to Daily Care of Dogs

I was never a pet person. In fact, I would cringe when I would see people hugging and kissing their pets. Despite everyone knowing I did not like pets, my brother gave me a puppy for my birthday. I had no clue about how to take care of it. I even thought about giving him away. Before I realized it though, he had grown on me. I found myself telling people that he was not the average dog, but a super dog instead. So, I decided to create a blog for non-dog lovers like me who find themselves owning and loving a dog.

What to Know When Buying Purebred Pomeranian Puppies

When looking for purebred Pomeranian puppies for sale, it is important to educate yourself about the breed and the dog breeder before you make the purchase. This is especially important when buying purebred Pomeranian puppies because the prices for these dogs are high as is the popularity of the breed. This means there some people who are breeding Pomeranians that are not producing true purebred Pomeranians with proven bloodlines. So, doing your homework ensures you get what you pay for. Here are a few things to keep in mind when buying a Pomeranian puppy.

Picking Up Your Pomeranian

When buying purebred Pomeranian puppies for sale, it is important that you not have the puppy delivered to you. Picking the puppy up will allow you to look at the environment the adult dogs and the puppies are living in. When you arrive at the pickup location, check on the cleanliness of the kennel. If home or kennel is dirty and not up to clean standards, then it's best to search elsewhere for purebred Pomeranian puppies. Buying a puppy from aggressive parents or parents that have been raised in an unclean environment is a clear sign that the breeder is only out to make money and has little concern for the dogs. Also, if they refuse to let you visit the parent dogs, it typically means the environment isn't suitable.

Qualities of a Reliable Breeder

A quality purebred Pomeranian dog breeder will be more than happy to provide you with references, show you around the kennel, allow you to meet the parent dogs, and provide proof of the purity of the bloodlines. A respectable breeder generally will have several questions for you as well, such as are there other dogs in the home, do you have small children, and will the puppy be left alone for long amounts of time. Reliable, caring dog breeders ask prospective buyers these questions because they care about their dogs and want to ensure the puppy is going to a good home. Buying purebred Pomeranian puppies for sale from a reputable, registered breed will improve your chances of getting a good purebred dog, and it reduces the likelihood of health issues due to genetic disorders.

A good breeder will generally only allow the puppies to leave when they are at least 8 weeks old. Be sure to ask the breeder if the puppy has been checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, and microchipped. Also check to make sure certificates and other documents have been completed. Before leaving with your puppy, ask the breeder to provide you with information about the puppy's diet and training.
